Why Cariño (Kah-ree-nyo)?
When I was growing up in New Mexico, my dad often reminded me to do things con cariño. Like many Spanish phrases, it doesn't have a single English translation. For our family, it meant approaching whatever you do with care, generosity, and genuine regard for others. That simple phrase continues to shape how I show up in my work today. I believe meaningful change begins with relationships. When families, educators, and communities come together with curiosity, trust, joy and care, they create the conditions where children—and entire communities—can thrive.
